Ursinus Senior Awarded Prestigious Watson Fellowship

Through a year of independent travel, Lucy Bamford '26 of St. Louis, Mo., will examine how perceptions of waste shape communities, economies, and sustainability worldwide. Bamford is the recipient of a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, a highly competitive one-year grant that supports graduating seniors pursuing independent, global projects outside the United States.

Twenty Ursinus College students have been selected to serve as APEX Ambassadors for the spring 2026 semester. APEX Ambassadors are trained upperclass students who work closely with academic and career coaches to support first-year students in APEX 050 and 051 and assist with APEX events throughout the semester.

Ursinus Students Place First in America250PA's 2025 Direct Effect Innovation Challenge

A team of Ursinus College students won first place in America250PA's Direct Effect Innovation Challenge (DEIC) in November. The DEIC is a three-round marketing challenge that gives students from colleges and universities across the Commonwealth the chance to design and launch a marketing campaign for America250PA, the official Pennsylvania Commission for the United States' 250th anniversary in 2026. The competition has taken place annually since 2019, engaging nearly 400 students from over 40 institutions across Pennsylvania. This is the second Ursinus College team to take home first-place in the last three years.
